Caldecote - Cambridge. Personal: continued bouts of malaria; 'cold and lifeless letters from C.', who is in Amsterdam; deaths of friends in the war. Children: 'Alethea's turbulence at school'; teaches the children to skate. Family: Julius becomes headmaster of Tonbridge School for a term; concern for the safety of Eustace while on war service. Activities include giving Italian lessons; having German lessons with Mrs Duke; giving a lecture on 'The Devil'; possibility of founding a branch of the Women's International League; giving a series of lectures on mysticism. Writing: Bammie's Book of Verses is published in 1915. Visitors and those visited include: Mrs Pashler at the Old Rectory, Caldecote, Cambs.; Fidelio; Marie Feyler; Bertrand Russell; Miss Allen of Homerton College; CG's mother Anatolia; Mrs Kellett; the Cockerells; Willie Searle; and 'Marjorie Harrison who used to be at Girton'. Religion: seances; visions of the cross; discussions and thoughts on Buddhism; more 'direct experience of God'; attends some Quaker meetings. Pasted at back: 3 unidentified photographs, one including Constantine in a group [family?], the other two of Amsterdam?
