Scope and Contents
Fordfield. Personal: brief visit to Constantine in Le Vesinet in Aug 1914, but long periods spent apart (though this is partly because of the fear of war); arguments becoming worse and more violent; March 1915 - Constantine is appointed to Amsterdam, but AT does not accompany him; continued bouts of illness including malaria, sore throats, earache, boils. Family: Julius is interned in Berlin, autumn 1914 - April 1915; Eustace goes on active service during the war and is posted to France; children's lessons, activities and outings. Other activities include speaking at a Heretics' members' meeting on 'Can we see God?' in 1914 and giving lectures in the Psychological Lecture Rooms on 'Spiritual Exercises in the Higher Religions' in 1915. Visitors include Lilian Whitehouse and Helen and Mrs Verrall. Visits to Hessle summer 1914 and Letchworth Sep 1914; and a month's holiday April-May 1915 in Dorset. Comment on the war. Religion: meditation and yoga continue to be important. Pasted in at back: 4 photographs including CG, 1915, and his parents, Anatolia and Argyris.
