Arlington Heights, Mass., USA - Emden, North Germany. Personal: birth of Aelfrida Catharine Agatha on 12 July 1910; Constantine is still described as the perfect husband in May 1910 but the first signs of a possible rift appear by Sep 1910; continues to suffer from various illnesses, including renewed attacks of malaria. Some comment on American life and customs. Some description of Alethea's development and activities. Jan-Feb 1910: return to Fordfield for a few weeks before going to Constantine's new posting in Emden. Writing: Houghton and Mifflin are to publish the 'Italian novel'; April 1909, begins a new novel - The Mother - also is in the middle of writing The Spanish Swindle; AT is published in various periodicals - temperance magazines, The Baptist Times, the Cambridge Independent Press; To Malise and Other Poems is published 2 Nov 1910. Pasted in at back: 10 photographs, mostly CG and AT with the children, also Fordfield.
