Personal: move to Arlington Heights in July 1908; preparations for baby; birth of Elizabeth Mary Alethea Graham on 22 August 1908 and description of same; Alethea's baptism on 20 Nov 1908. Family: visits from both AT's mother and CG's mother; Julius is appointed assistant professor of Greek at Edinburgh. Writing: The Love of Money, a novel, is finished in 1908, but is turned down by Grant Richards; begins a new novel in Nov 1908 'about my lower middle classes in Cambridge'. Pasted in at back: 4 photographs of CG and a photo of 'our big room at Odessa'.
