Scope and Contents

Fordfield - Whitchurch, Dorset. Many of the entries in this volume concern Constantine and AT's happiness with him. Other callers include Dorothea Conybeare and Margaret Keynes. Family events: Julius returns from the British School at Athens; Eustace is baptised into the Presbyterian Church. Places visited include Hessle (near Hull) to visit Constantine's family; Whitchurch in Dorset for a holiday; Waterbeach, Swaffham Prior and Clayhithe in Cambridgeshire; and London to visit Lucy Longstaffe. Activities include teaching at both the Girls' and Boys' County High Schools and Sunday School teaching; County Union meetings; and speaking at the North Cambridgeshire Temperance Association. Writing: Le Livre des Jeux to be published; and various stories are published in The White Ribbon Magazine. Religion: regularly prays at the Catholic Church but promises Constantine in Dec 1905 that she will not go there any more. Begins to suffer from malaria and various other illnesses, including bronchitis. At the end of this volume Constantine changes his surname to Graham and is appointed to the Consular Service.
