Scope and Contents
Paris - Florence - Fordfield. Sep 1904 - March 1905: sojourn in Florence, Italy, with an aunt, where her activities include visiting elementary schools, Sunday Schools and churches; giving English lessons in return for Italian lessons; attending university lectures on philosophy etc. Is nursed in ill health in a convent at Fiesole during Feb 1905 where she deliberates the Roman Catholic faith. Also has a 'new thirst for mysticism'. Little mention of Constantine during Italian trip but most of the rest of this volume is taken up with references to him after her return to Fordfield in March.
