Avenue des Alpes - Fordfield. AT has a bout of German measles. Last riding lesson with Jules Dufour. Holiday with her family in Finshauts (Swiss-French borders). Mountain walks, dances, further visits to Mlle Feyler, descriptions of local life, trips into Lausanne. Mentions recent habit of going into the Roman Catholic Church for half an hour or so to pray. Male companions include an Austrian violinist who proposes to AT (she refuses); later a M. Hans Heinrich Peter ["Enrico"], who also proposes. AT gives his proposal serious consideration. Late Sep. 1901 - return to Fordfield. Visitors and those visited include Silvia Myers, Helen Verrall, the Ewings, the Laidlaws, the Currys, the Whittakers, the Whiteheads, the Lillys, Homerton students, Mrs Sayle and the Schechters. Male companions include cousin Percy and Clayton (a friend of Julius'). Activities include Liberal Association events, tea in brother Julius' rooms, lessons with Miss Harrison and Silvia, attending a debate at the Union, attending a "squash" to meet students at Westminster College, attending church at St Columba's, Band of Hope meetings at church, and her "first grown up ball. It was at Mrs Eaden Lilley's" on Oct 15 1901.
