Personal diaries: Volume 7, 1901-04-05 - 1901-06-15
Scope and Contents
Avenue des Alpes 3, Lausanne. This volume contains further marginal comments added in 1903 and 1904. Begins this volume with the [presumably fictional] love story of Jules Dufour, AT's riding master. Activities include riding lessons; mountain walks; boat trips; visits to Mlle Feyler, now an assistant at a big cantonal hospital; a visit to Geneva; an adventure with a runaway horse. News arrives in May 1901 of the death of Archie Stent on April 29th. Mentions a "tall and huge German" with whom she danced at the ball in January. Regrets at impending departure from Lausanne - especially leaving the horses and riding lessons. Lends her novel "The Ending of the Way" to Mlle Feyler and reports her comments on same. June - round of goodbye visits and arrival of her parents. Pasted in at back: photographs of M. et Mme. Jules Dufour and their children, Sep 1901 (5 photographs). Also at back, list of "The horses I rode at the manege Dufour, Lausanne". On back cover, sketches of what are presumably Alpine flowers.
