Royal Artillery helmet, 1916
Scope and Contents
Black military helmet with brass chin strap, surmounted with brass spike and bearing a brass badge with the following mottoes: 'Honi soit qui mal y pense', 'Dieu et mon droit' and 'Quo Fas et Gloria Ducunt Ubique' (the latter being the motto of the Royal Regiment of Artillery). A label inside the helmet reads: 'Name: W A Anderson, Size: 6 7/8, Date: Jan [?] 16'. It is housed in a metal box.[The helmet is presumed to have belonged to a relative of Frank Anderson.]

This item was amongst items found in Old Victoria Farmhouse when the house was given to Girton by Nan Anderson: it was transferred to the Archives from the Bursar's Office, via Peter Sparks, in February 2014.
