Biographical / Historical
Margaret Swainson Anderson (née Willis, Girton 1921) was the daughter of Minnie Willis (née Baldwin, Girton 1890) and the mother of Margaret C (Nan) Anderson (New Hall 1957). She married Frank Anderson in 1933. Immediate Source of Acquisition
The papers came to Girton as follows: 1 box of papers (Accession No. 9798/66) was taken by the Bursar from from Old Victoria Farmhouse, the family home, when it was given to Girton by Nan Anderson; and 2 boxes of papers, including Margaret Swainson Anderson's diaries and the letters she wrote to her sister Betty, came from MSA's nephew Christopher Browning (Betty's son) in 2006.
