Scope and Contents

The messuage with associated yards, orchards, etc., formerly in the occupation of William Shelton and now in the occupation of John Stearn, lies next to a tenement of St John's College (S) and Butchers Close (N and W) and abuts on the highway to Grantchester (E); with lease of 8 acres and 3 roods of land in the West Fields, also a barn formerly in the occupation of William Shelton, with outbuildings; also Paschall Yard; also a yard or garden plot formerly a tenement of Richard Cage; also a rood of arable land at Dovehousehill.
The annual rent comprises 26s 8d, plus one quarter and 6 and a half bushels of best Purkey wheat after the rate of 6s 8d the quarter plus two bushels of malt after the rate of 5s the quarter plus one good fat turkey, with specifications as to when the various elements are to be paid.
