Biographical / Historical

Constance Babington Smith (b. 1912) was a journalist who carried out aerial intelligence work in World War Two. Her interpretation of aerial reconnaisance photographs led to the identification of a key German airbase where V1 flying bomb facilities were located. She went on to write a book about her experiences called 'Evidence in Camera' and was awarded the MBE in 1945. When she moved to Cambridge she converted to the Greek Orthodox faith.
