Scope and Contents

He had received a letter from Kit (a friend who had later been killed in an avalanche the same day) which was a shock. He is heavily involved in the wedding plans for the reception at Peterhouse on 10 June, as Adele can't give orders to the College kitchens. He describes their new home in Conduit Head, a wing of the main house belonging to Francis and Frances Cornford, with a garden which used to be the orchard part of the Cornfords' garden. For their honeymoon, they have booked a trip to southern Spain. They had attended [A. E.] Housman's lecture on Poetry, its name and nature - only his second public lecture, delivered on the 22nd anniversary of his first. He will send on an article from The Times about it separately.
