Correspondence from Sir George W. Prothero to John Willis Clark
Letters mostly to Clark, with some to his wife Frances Clark (d.1908), Adam Sedgwick (1785-1873) and others, mainly routine in nature, and collected for their autograph value. Another volume, containing letters of scientists, was not acquired. The original numbering in each volume has been retained; in this catalogue the letters are grouped by subject.

Three letters sent from George Walter Prothero to Ida Darwin in October 1902 and September 1910, making requests to call upon Horace and Ida at their home.
PROTHERO, Mary Frances 'Fanny', 1910-1913
Three letters from Fanny Prothero to Ida Darwin and one each from Fanny and George Prothero to Horace Darwin. All but one of the letters were sent to Ida and Horace in August-September 1910 and express sympathy and concern for Ida following an accident in which she injured her hand. The final letter was most likely sent in February 1913 and describes Fanny and George's visit to the family home of Alan Barlow, son-in-law of Ida and Horace, at Wendover in Buckinghamshire.
