Scope and Contents The Society for Education in the Applications of Science (SEAS) was established as a UK charity in 1968 and wound up in 1991 when the remaining assets were transferred to the British Pugwash Trust (see RTBT 5/6/4). Its main purpose was to provide a legal entity for the receipt of charitable donations to Pugwash including those raised by an appeal to establish the Cockcroft Memorial Fund in memory of Sir John Cockcroft, first President of Pugwash, who died in 1967.
