Letter from Paul Bourget (Hotel Burlington, Dover [Kent]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he congratulates her on her marriage [to George Cornwallis-West], discusses his work on a novel, and expresses appreciation for [WSC's] published letters.

Letter from George [Lord] Curzon [later Lord Curzon of Kedleston] (Strathpeffer [Ross and Cromarty, Scotland]) to Jennie [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he congratulates her on WSC's escape [from the Boers] and says that he does not think that he will be able to appoint [George] Cornwallis-West.

Letter from Mary [Lady Curzon](Viceregal Lodge, Simla [India]) to Jennie [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which she promises to subscribe to [the Anglo Saxon Review]; describes a visit from the Sourdaler; comments on the high esteem in which WSC and ["The Story of the Malakand Field Force"] are regarded in India and asks for a copy of one of his speeches; discusses the interest in Indian affairs which is shown by journalists and asks her to write.

Letter from George (Gloucester House, Park Lane [London]) to Lady Randolph Churchill returning a cutting [of one of WSC's articles].

Letter from Richard Harding Davis (Villa Camelle, Aix les Bains [France]) to Lady Randolph Churchill in which he says that he has just left South Africa, apologises for not completing an article [for the Anglo Saxon Review], encloses photographs of her on the hospital ship Maine and a cutting about WSC [not present] and congratulates her on her marriage [to George Cornwallis-West].

Letter from [Lord] Minto (Government House, Ottawa [Canada]) to Jennie [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he reports that WSC's lecture tour had a good reception in Canada and discusses the opening of a manual training school.

Letter from Gerald Fitzgibbon (Howth [County Dublin, Ireland]) to Lady Randolph Churchill in which he discusses WSC's book ["The Story of the Malakand Field Force"]. He explains his interest in the subject and compliments her on WSC's persuasive style which he says is reminiscent of [Lord Randolph Churchill's] although he criticises errors in the proof reading.

Letter from [Sir] William Garstin (Cairo [Egypt]) to Lady Randolph Churchill in which he thanks her for a copy of "The River War". He says that he is impressed by the book and with WSC's account of the capture of the armoured train in the Morning Post and expresses admiration for her work [on the hospital ship Maine].

Letter from Richard Haldane (House of Commons) to Lady Randolph Churchill in which he says that he has read an account of [WSC's] speech at Bradford [Yorkshire]. He describes the speech as "broad in tone - fresh & vigorous", says that he hopes that [WSC] will soon enter the House of Commons and that it was reminiscent [of Lord Randolph Churchill].
