Scope and Contents A view looking out to sea from the Bermuda Beach. The caption on the face of the print reads: 'Typical of Bermuda's beaches is this sandy cove between rugged boulders of coral rock. Little secluded beaches like this extend along a good part of the south shore of the islands where a vacationist can find as secluded a spot as he likes for a picnic or a swim. Bermuda Cottage, 1951 - 1953

The caption on the face of the print reads: 'Architecture in Bermuda follows the more or less unique pattern. This little cottage nestling among Bermuda cedar trees is typical of buildings in Bermuda, with its stepped, whitewashed roof, designed for catching rainwater for drinking purposes. Both the typed caption, and the reverse of the print (handwritten in pencil) have the reference '4711-33'. The print is also stamped by the Bermuda News Bureau, with the photographers name.

[Gibb's Hill Lighthouse, Southampton Parish], 1951 - 1953

Scope and Contents

This lighthouse stands on a hill 245 feet above sea level and is itself 117 feet high. A caption on the face of the print reads: '4712-12. Framed by the white-washed roof and chimney of a typical Bermuda farmhouse is Gibb's Hill Lighthouse, highest point in Bermuda. 150 x 205 mm. The caption on the reverse of the print reads: ' Smallest of 58 entries: The British 31-ft sloop Samuel Pepys, skippered by Lieutenant Commador Erroll Bruce, R. I. , to the non-American yacht with best corrected time. The sturdy little craft was third in class 'C'. Blue Water Classic - 1852 No. 5'. The reverse is also stamped with Bermuda News Bureau, and the photographer's name.

A scene showing a small beach on the right and headland stretching out to left. The caption on the face of the print reads: 'This is a view of a section of the south shore which is broken by craggy headlands and small sandy beaches...'. Both the typed caption, and the reverse of the print (handwritten in pencil) have the reference 'B104'. The print is also stamped by the Bermuda News Bureau, with the photographers name written in pencil.
