Biography
Marceau was probably Theodore C. Marceau, born 1868. Marceau was a commercial photographer with a studio at 258 Fifth Avenue, New York, United States. He possibly also had studios in: San Francisco, California; Cincinnati, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; 160 Tremont Street, Boston, Massachusetts.

127 x 179 mm. Three quarter length portrait showing Sir Daniel Morris (1844-1933) seated in a stiff-backed armchair. Morris was a distinguished botanist, specialising particularly in the economic botany of Britain's colonial possessions. He was appointed Assistant Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya, Ceylon in 1887 and served as Director of the Jamaica Botanic Department from 1879-86.
