Biography
Marceau was probably Theodore C. Marceau, born 1868. Marceau was a commercial photographer with a studio at 258 Fifth Avenue, New York, United States. He possibly also had studios in: San Francisco, California; Cincinnati, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; 160 Tremont Street, Boston, Massachusetts.

Half length signed studio portrait of Sir Gordon Guggisberg measuring 173 x 235 mm. Guggisberg (1869-1930) was born in Canada and after an English education was commissioned into the Royal Engineers in 1889. After service in Singapore and at Woolwich he was employed under the Colonial Office in 1902 on a survey of the Gold Coast. In 1905 he was appointed Director of Surveys. In 1910 he became Director of Surveys, Southern Nigeria and in 1913 Surveyor-General of Nigeria. After war...

127 x 179 mm. Three quarter length portrait showing Sir Daniel Morris (1844-1933) seated in a stiff-backed armchair. Morris was a distinguished botanist, specialising particularly in the economic botany of Britain's colonial possessions. He was appointed Assistant Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya, Ceylon in 1887 and served as Director of the Jamaica Botanic Department from 1879-86.
