A group photograph of the Sultan, European officials and Malay soldiers gathered on the steps of a specially erected open-sided wooden platform at some stage during the proceedings. Sultan Sir Ibrahim (1873-1959), who ruled from 1895 until his death, stands at the centre of the group next to Sir Arthur Henderson YOUNG (1854-1938), Governor of the Straits Settlements 1911-1919. 130 x 81 mm. Showing a mixed European and Malay group seated in front fo a summer house beside an ornamental pool in the Japanese Garden. Sultan Sir Ibrahim (1873-1959) is seated with the Sultana in the centre of the party. Their son, the future Sultan Ismail (1894-) is seated six places to the left of the Sultan. No other figures have been identified.

176 x 243 mm. (mounted portrait). A three quarter length portrait of Sir Ibrahim (1873-1959), Sultan of Johore from 1895-1959. The portrait, dated November 23 1936, is inscribed to Sir Frank Swettenham and accompanied by a letter from the Sultan thanking Swettenham for the gift of the latters portrait. This photograph is a reciprocation of that gift.
