Martyn James Ellis Chambers joined Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd in 1962. He was employed in the company's Hong Kong office and at Jardine Henderson Ltd, Calcutta, working mainly in shipping, before joining Jardine Matheson, Tokyo. He resigned in 1973.
