Benjamin David Fleming Beith was employed by Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd in Hong Kong and Shanghai, 1907-1935, working mainly in the Private Office, before joining Matheson & Co. Ltd. He was a Director of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd, 1921-1944, and Matheson & Co. Ltd, 1940-1945.
