Biography
The Wamphray Investment Trust Ltd was incorporated on 18 March 1937 as the successor to the Hongkong Finance Co. and Hongkong & China Property Co., which had managed Sir John William Buchanan-Jardine's interests in the Eastern properties he inherited from his father Sir Robert William Buchanan-Jardine. The assets of the Hongkong Finance Co. Ltd were vested in the new company on its formation, while the properties of the Hongkong and China Property Co. were transferred to Sir J.W.B. Jardine's name.
