Biography

The Hongkong & Kowloon Wharf & Godown Co. Ltd was formed in Hong Kong in 1886 by Sir Paul Chater, with the involvement of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd, to operate wharfage and dockside wharehouses. It became Wharf (Holdings) Ltd in 1986. The modern company engages in hotels, logistics, property investment and telecommunications, and is the owner of the Star Ferry.
