Scope and Contents
These diaries are especially detailed during the war, covering MS’s life with her family and then as an officer with the Auxiliary Territorial Service. They remain quite detailed up to the mid-1950s, after which they mainly concern gardening, with the exception of the diary for 1979-80, which covers CS's spell as Governor of Southern Rhodesia [later Zimbabwe].

The collection consists of manuscript notebooks, correspondence, and business and family papers of Henry Taylor, with additional papers relating to the family of his wife Christian (née Fox). The correspondence includes letters sent between Taylor and members of his family (7901/1 and 7901/2). This is supported by correspondence with those outside the immediate family circle.
