Composed by Henry Ellsing, Clerk of the Parliaments.’ For a notice of Sir Henry Elsynge (c. 1606-1656), see Anthony Wood's Athenæ Oxoniensis, where this work is said to have been mostly taken from one with a similar title by the father of Sir Henry (Henry Elsynge, bap. 1577-1635), who was clerk to the House of Lords, as the son was to that of the Commons. Henry Ellsing, Clerk of the Parliaments, must be the father, as that title...
