Scope and Contents Showing two circular ‘daga’ and thatch huts with a stone wall beyond and the Union Jack flying in the background. ‘On the plateau near the head of the Pass, the Column laagered, and on rising ground a short distance away Colonel Pennefather ordered the construction of a fort. Strong stakes were driven into the earth to stand about six feet above the ground, and branches were woven into the interstices between them.
