The work is described as 'new slating work done on the further side of the college next the street from the chamber that was the dovehouse all along to the further end to Mr Easton's in Loaders Yard, and for taking down the slates, battering of them to a square, sorting of them to a scantling'. 'The work was begun the fifth of September 1631 and was finished the fifth of October following.'
