Scope and Contents From the Fonds: During the Second World War, Earl was commissioned to prepare a series of pastel portraits of service men and women from what were then British dominions and colonies (described as 'Empire servicemen'), including Trinida, Newfoundland, Southern Rhodesia [i.e. Zimbabwe] and Ceylon [i.e. Sri Lanka].
