Fuentès y Guzmàn: History of Guatemala

Scope and Contents The first part of the History of Guatemala written in 1690 by Francisco Antonio de Fuentès y Guzmán and dedicated to Charles II of Spain, 526 folios. The work is divided into a dedication (fo. iv), a preface (fo. 1v), sixteen books of text (fo.7) and a summary of contents (fo. 518). On fo. 487v is a rough plan of the town of Tecpan de Galeana, Mexico, with rough drawings of buildings. On a fly-leaf is the name 'J. M.
