No addressee given but sent to William Frere (as Fellow involved in planting). Annesley writes: whatever I said I'm sure I was too cautious of saying anything disrespectful of any one of my Fellows..' This letter is written in reply to Frere's letter of 29 July 1806.

Sackett understands that there has been a vacancy for three-quarters of a year and that he has not been advised of this. He sends reproaches, and nominates [Thomas] Brett and [Francis] Drayton, both already of the college.

The college had clearly written asking for a payment which Sackett, who has been in post for 20 years, maintains is payable only once yearly, at Michaelmas, and not twice. He will pay at Michaelmas. At present he has no name to nominate to a vacancy.

Sir Nicholas Bacon had founded a grammar school at Redgrave, Suffolk, and settled on the college an annuity of £20 issuing out of his manors of Studdye and Burningham in Norfolk to support six scholars from the school.
The estates from which the annuity was payable had since been purchased by the Britiffe family..
