The Bishop reports on his dealings with Allsope and his counsel, and with Bowebeare and Mihell, and encloses a copy (5d) of the brief out of the records for the conveyance of the rectory of East Chinnock to Manners on 27 April 1576 on the interpretation of which the matter rests.

Letter to John Spencer with reference to a supposed threat, deemed non-existent by a judgement of Mr Creed, to Spencer's title at Elmington., 1688-06-30
Gattward refers to a deed from Lady Pickering, Sir Nicholas Pedley and Mr Robert Elton to Sidney Pickering whereby Pickering is made only tenant for life. The deed is said to be in Spencer's custody, but is not found here.
