Letter to John Syclyng, fellow., 1490 - 1491
Scope and Contents
The Master has been called before the Vice-Chancellor and 'recusyd him for his Judge' and chose an arbitrator, viz. John Blythe. The Chancellor has summoned Brygges to punish him for breaking of his imprisonment and disobeying his commandment. There is no appeal to Rome in a civil matter. Brygges asks Syclyng to 'cownsell with lernyd men of the Archysse' and to send an inhibition.
Endorsed: To Maister John Syclynge so being logyd with Willyam Brygges yirmonger be the greyfrerys in london'.
