Lanning describes his social life among the European community and travels in the region for work or recreation (circa 150 sheets).

A series of letters from Lanning to his mother and uncle describing his move to a new job at Kitale Stores in Kakamega. Lanning discusses work at the store and its customers among the European community. He reports upon his friends and social life, travels within the region, and reaction to the Italian invasion of Abyssinia [Ethiopia]. Circa 100 sheets.
