51 x 73 mm. Showing the statue of President Brand which stands at the entrance to the Government Buildings in Bloemfontein and was erected through public subscription in 1891. At the foot of the statue is inscribed Brand's motto 'Alles sal reg kom so ekeen sy plig ben' (everything will come right if everyone does his duty).

Scope and Contents From the Fonds: The collection consists of a negatives album, produced by Lennon Ltd., Cape Town, containing 125 x 95 mm negatives and an envelope with six further negatives of the same size. Some are poor photographs but many that are apparently very faint contain a good deal of detail. Seven modern prints have also been made and are listed as Y305U/105-111. The images were taken by Albert Ernest Lamb and the captions are from the list in the front of the album. The captions have been used as titles...

201 x 150 mm. A view looking north-east across the junction of President Brand Street and Elizabeth Street. On the farther side of the cross roads stands the Raadzaal, a domed building with classical façade and portico, completed in 1893 and used during the days of the republic as the seat of the Volksraad.
