Half-plate. Nicholson Park, Delhi. [General John Nicholson (1821-1857) served his military career in the 27th Bengal Native Infantry and commanded the main storming party in the assault on Delhi on September 14 1857. He was shot through the chest during this encounter, and buried in front of the Kashmir Gate. He was the inspirer of a sect in Hazara who worshipped Nikkul Soyn between between 1848-1858].
