244 x 191 mm. A view looking along a path in the gardens with trees and shrubs either side. Situated just below Government House and founded in 1763, the gardens are the oldest in the New World. Bligh's voyage to the South Seas in HMS 'Bounty' in 1787, which ended in mutiny, was made in order to supply the gardens with the breadfruit tree.

Scope and Contents From the File: Contains slides of St Lucia. The majority are of views of scenery, many from the sea or from the air (two sequences in February 1971 and September 1972). There is not much relating to Marnham's work, though his official house in Castries is shown in February 1971. Among events which are shown are: a youth rally at Vieux Fort on 1 May 1971 and 11 scenes at the Castries Carnival of 1972.
