The prints mostly relate to Westgate’s earlier work, but there are a few from the 1930s, including nos. 426-454 of visits to South Africa and African islands, all processed in February 1936. The caption (written on the negative) reads 'Petit temple de l'amour, érigé par Sir Hesketh à la memoire du gouverneur David 'Le Reduit' 25.3.22.' The temple was designed by Bell and constructed in 1921.

In 1929 Frome’s surviving daughter, Mrs Frank Wynne, presented some of the South Australian drawings to the Royal Empire Society through the good offices of Sir Harry Wilson, to whom she bequeathed the rest of the collection.
