This section concludes with photographs of members of the domestic staff taken just before Marnham left St Lucia (dated Oct 72 nos 18-25). 281 x 216 mm. A view showing the cocoa drying racks on a Grenada estate. A group of women pose in front of the racks while workers can be seen spreading the beans uniformly. After the pods are picked the beans are 'sweated' in boxes for several days to remove the surrounding pulp. They are then placed on these racks for sun-drying before being packed and transported.
