Sir Robert Montgomery (1809-1887) is seated, with another figure, in the smaller coach at the right. Montgomery entered the Bengal Civil Service in 1827 and after service in various posts became Chief Commissioner of Oudh in 1858 and Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab 1859-65.
