View looking down onto the road, with jungle in the foreground: ‘Not so successful in detail in consequence of overpowering vegetation in the foreground, is a view of the Kandy road from Moragalla Bridge. It is singularly difficult to distinguish bits of road from glimpses of river in photographs, unless objects are reflected vividly in the water in the latter case’ (p. 12).
