Indian letters of William Millar, 1874 - 1971

Scope and Contents Three letters written by Millar in Dacca to his sister Louisa concerning his daily life and early administrative experience. The letters are accompanied by 'Royal Commonwealth Society library notes', no. 175 (October, 1971), featuring the article 'A strut in the steel frame', which includes extracts from the letters. There is also an undated biographical note on Millar.

Native Rajah's Durbar, Bengal, 1862

Scope and Contents 282 x 224 mm. View of the young Maharaja of Bharatpur seated on carpets in the centre of two rows of nobles with servants standing behind. Sir Jaswant Singh Behadur (1851-1893) succeeded to the gadi of Bharatpur in 1853 and was invested with full powers in 1871.
