Lyne (1864-1961) who was at the time Director of Agriculture in Zanzibar. He subsequently held posts in Mozambique and Ceylon and published, among other works ‘Zanzibar in Contemporary Times’ (1905) and ‘An Apostle of Empire’ (1936), a biography of General Lloyd Matthews.
