5 photographs, 88 x 105 mm., pasted onto one sheet. The caption reads 'These photographs were taken a long time after the war. 1 shows St. David's Church (understood to be demolished in late 1945 or early 1946, ref. Ministry of Defence). The four lower pictures were drawings done in black and white on asbestos sheeting and formed a reredos in St. David's Church. They were done by a P.O.W. before the civilians were put in Sime Road'. The photographer is unknown.

Taken from the junction with North Canal Road this view looks south-west along South Bridge Road, with the Magistrates Court in the right foreground and the Central Police Station further down on the opposite side of the road. Both these buildings were among the substantial public works erected in the 1880s, the courts being completed in 1885 and the Police Station opened in 1886. Neither of these buildings now exists, the courts being demolished to make way for the Hong Lim...
