173 x 105 mm. A view of the Gothic Church of England Cathedral designed by George Gilbert Scott, completed in 1885. The original building was gutted by the great fire of 1892 and this picture dates from around 1905 when the restoration work was completed.

Situated on the other side of the Avalon Peninsula to St. John's, Placentia was the first and most important of the French settlements in Newfoundland and was founded in 1622.
