When the RES Headquarters was rebuilt in 1934-36, gifts of timber for panelling and furnishing were obtained from Empire Governments, companies and individuals. Many were destroyed during the bombing of 1941 and replacement gifts were received. This file coordinates pre and post-war correspondence.

370 x 250 mm. The cut-out head-and-shoulder pictures of two boys have been stuck to the original photograph so that, at a glimpse, they appear to have been part of the original. They are located at the far-left and mid-right of the group. The caption on the back of the print reads: 'East Africa 1930. Left Aug.1.1930 returned Nov.22.1930. 29 boys 4 directors'.
