Showing a tray of plumbago, quartz and iron pyrites, presumably on display at the 1886 exhibition and described in the Ceylon Observer: 'As striking and beautiful contrasts to the dark plumbago ore, the white quartz and the brown mica, there are glittering and gold-like specimens of iron pyrites, traces of copper occasionally glorifying the golden tints with 'peacock green''.
Pocket register of a Ceylon servant, 1911 - 1922
The volume begins with a copy, in both English and Sinhala, of Ordinance no. 28 (1871), enacted by the Governor of Ceylon to provide for the registration of domestic servants. This is followed by Madasamy's personal details and his employment record, including the names and testimonials of his former employers and the reasons for his discharge.
