127 x 101 mm. A view looking across the Belize River towards the Court House which lies near the river mouth. The building seen here was destroyed by fire in 1918 and replaced by a building of similar though more ornate design on the same site (built 1923 - 1926).

Mr Stuart wears a gun and holster while some of the workers carry implements indicative of their crafts - saws, hammers, scythes and axes. The caption was probably written by an assistant of Avery's with an unsure command of English (the rather unformed handwriting strengthens this supposition).
