Guggisberg stated: 'The open-air painting of Abbontiakoon, with its variety of greens, the winding track of the Government Railway to Coomassie in the foreground and the distant blue hills, give a characteristic scene in the mining district' (Guggisberg, Gold Coast News, no. 25).

The typewritten caption on the reverse reads 'The revenue of the State Treasury is collected from various sources, one of these being the fishing tax. Five shillings per year is paid for a fishing permit. This Krobo fisherman casts his net in the River Volta which passes through part of Manya Krobo'.
