View of cannon on the ramparts of the Spur, built about 1750. An English Fort was begun on this spot in the 1690s; it has endured many sieges and has undergone a great deal of rebuilding.

Dr F.V Nanka-Bruce, O.B.E., 1946-07-23
125 x 175 mm. 'First elected member for the municipality of Accra. In court dress. In 1900, as a dispenser, he was one of the small garrison including Governor Hodgson beleaguered in Kumasi Fort.’ Frederick Victor Nanka-Bruce was a physician, politician and planter (1878-1953). Taken at the opening session of a new Legislative Council.
Dr. J.B. Danquah, 1946
120 x 180 mm. Joseph Kwame Kyeretwie Boakye Danquah (1895-1965), lawyer and nationalist, was one of the founders of the United Gold Coast Convention in 1947, but later opposed Nkrumah. He died in prison.
